We offer quality boarding and a varied lesson program regardless of whether you ride for pleasure or for competition. Our farm is an active training and riding stable. Boarding with us means you are making a commitment to your own riding as well as the continued training of your equine- both on the ground and under saddle! We have wonderful small ponies to get small children started towards the goal of leasing or owning.
We do not have lesson horses. Being an equestrian is a big commitment and most of our riders are in the saddle two to three days a week. There are many training areas on the farm for owners to keep their horses happy and thriving with a varied routine. Our two outdoor arenas have all weather stone/sand footing, a small indoor for the worst weather, paved paths for wet weather, a long conditioning hill, a stoned lot for walking poles, a gently sloped giant hayfield for schooling/conditioning, and a small wooded trail to practice some harder terrain. We attend local dressage shows, combined tests, clinics, trail rides, pace events, and starter trials. We strive to teach horsemanship, care, and equine management alongside riding skills. 2026 Weeks Off From Lessons

Heidi Douts
is the Owner and Head Instructor at Longshot Stables. She began her journey with horses as a tiny 5 year old on a miniature horse. Heidi has a broad knowledge of horse care, training techniques, and various disciplines. She has developed an eye for detail in both the horse and rider. Heidi enjoys working with rescues/projects and the details of horse management. She developed a personal interest in dressage and regularly seeks to increase her knowledge and continue her own education. Heidi’s current mount is a DHH named Fig, who came to Longshot in an emaciated state and is now competing in Fourth Level.
Her goal is always finding the path that a horse will be best at whether it’s in dressage, jumping, for children, etc., and produces well rounded horses and ponies. |
